My Story...
I have been exploring my creativity over several years in one guise or another, the compulsion to create is in my bones. Originally studying Fashion and Design at the University of Salford, I enjoyed both the design and manufacture process. Creating something wonderful from nothing but an idea in my head, blew my mind. After uni I decided to set up a retail shop selling my creations. I did, and from the age of 21 it fulfilled me for a number of years. Yet the niggle to paint was always present, but you know...life! I later went on to follow my calling and become a full time artist. I now paint from my studio in the small coastal village of Heysham, Lancashire UK, a stone's throw from Morecambe Bay in the shadow of the Cumbrian hills. I combine my passions for design, art, nature and the coast and countryside I live by, to create abstracted paintings which will both soothe the soul and sit beautifully in your home. Working in acrylics and mixed media help me to explore the textures, mark making, colours and shapes I find in the rhythms of nature, and helps me translate my vision. I love to explore my environment which is a constant source of inspiration, and hope that through my art I can help others find their souls calmed and their spirits lifted by the things I paint.
